In particular, indoor air quality standards prepared by the government for newly built apartment will be applied from next year. The Ministry of Environment revealed that it would establish standards until the end of this year and execute from January next year since ‘the amendment draft of Indoor Air Quality Management Act on multi-facility, etc,' which is Indoor Air Quality Standards applied to new apartment house for dealing with sick-house syndrome, indoor air pollution, etc, was approved by the general meeting of the National Assembly. Accordingly, the ministry will regulate indoor air quality as follows: it adds dormitory of more than 100 houses in apartment house where the indoor air quality standards is applied; and it regards as multi-facility an underground arcade attached to subway station building or ground premise. If the aforementioned standards of the government are prepared that is applied to indoor air quality of newly built apartment, house constructors are now faced to handle such an urgent mission since the standards are rather mandatory compliance.
